Which pests it controls
Neem oil is most effective against whitefly, aphids, thrips, jassids and mites, and against caterpillars in their early stages. It works as an antifeedant and disrupts insect growth, so results appear over a few days rather than instantly.
Mixing correctly
Oil does not mix with water on its own. First mix 2–3 ml neem oil with 1 ml liquid soap or a sticker in a small amount of water, then add it to the tank. Stir continuously while spraying.
Best time to spray
Spray in the early morning or evening. Azadirachtin breaks down in strong sunlight, and spraying in the heat can scorch tender leaves. Cover both the upper and lower leaf surfaces.
Common mistakes
Do not mix neem oil with sulphur or copper fungicides. Repeat the spray every 7–10 days when pest pressure is high, and always check a small patch first on sensitive crops.
